Water dome project / Greetings from Yuki Sugihara

Hello, everyone.
I am working on the art project to build domed fountain everywhere. Since 1999, I built makeshift water domes 8 meters in diameter at 7 sites in Japan, and 1,140,000 people have experienced them. Within the dome, you scarcely get wet. So, you can experience mysterious feeling as if you were in water in your clothing. Looking out the outside through clear water, the world looks different. You feel like your five senses are eaten up with water coupled with the blink of light and the wind from below. In the water dome, everybody, both children and adults, smiles. Though the main characters of the traditional fountain are sculpture and bronze statues, those of the water domes are the people who visited them. Visitors with cameras never fail to take pictures as a memory.
Taking advantage of the opportunity of the tenth anniversary of the project, I would like to share the pleasure with people around the world. To share the new perception from water beyond the barrier of languages, religions and nationality is the purpose of this art project.
